12/17/06 Update

Students at ACU are frantically studying for finals right now so I decided not to go on campus. Instead, I went to the Mall of Abilene... and just sat there watching people walk by.

A little nine year old girl walked by me with her grandmother and she grabbed my hand. I could tell she had some sort of a handicap, I asked her grandmother if the little girl had cerabral palsy because she moved a lot like me. She responded no, but she had been born with a handicap. She has epileptic seizures, and other complications, but she kept grabbing my hand.
Her grandmother thank me for talking with her.

While there I talked with several other people some, of which I had not seen in several years.

Wednesday I finished teaching the first chapter of Ephesians at Oakridge church of Christ. I'd like to thank the church for giving me this opportunity.

Thursday night Rosa and I went to the Middleton Unit State Prison for a training session. The chaplain gave us the required training, and he advised us on how to conduct ourselves. He said we would be better off by listening more than talking. We believe the Lord will show us good opportunities on how to influence the inmates. Hopefully we can bring in the Word when the right occasions arises.

Hey Robert!

You may have forgotten me since my ACU days - I'm Brian D's old roommate!

So great to find you! Brian sent me an email saying that you had started a blog - so glad you did.

I hope you and Rosa are doing well. From the sound of it you both are keeping very busy - I would have expected nothing else!

You mentioning Middleton reminded me of when I went to bible studies at the Robertson Unit outside Abilene. It was so humbling to meet so many inmates who were filled with the holy spirit despite thier situation. It suddenly helped me see how Paul could have rejoiced eventhough he was chained to a wall in Rome. My only regret is that I didn't get involved until my last semester in Abilene.

May God continue to bless the two of you as you set about bringing glory to His name!

Keep up the posting!
